UV printing on aluminum panel

2025-2026

The Earthline Series transforms the displacement of the body into material form, exploring how perception is generated through movement. Treating the body as a measurement tool, the artist utilizes walking strides across the Mongolian barrens as a benchmark to calibrate perception, thereby redefining geographical boundaries.

The core medium of the work is 360-degree panoramic landscape photography. These annular images, capturing the progression from foreground to background, are printed onto aluminum plates; the outermost circumference of the disc symbolizes the horizon where the gaze reaches its limit.

Subsequently, the artist manually bends the aluminum, creating undulating arcs and incisions upon the flat imagery. These carved lines act like melodic notes within a painting, invoking the "physicality" of vehicular jolts and the resistance of walking encountered during travel. They serve as rhythmic traces left by the body, movement, and culture throughout the process of migration, endowing the visual form with a temporal breath.
