Echoes of the void, 2024

This work explores the coexistence of disappearance and presence. By collecting early-period furniture once used in mining company dormitories, the project traces the remnants of a vanished workers’ settlement. Stripped of their original functional roles, the furniture pieces are transformed into abstract bodies woven from golden metallic threads.

Through a process of community co-creation, these golden lines are drawn, entwined, and shaped by local residents, constructing an ethereal and blurred spatial form—like dreams, bubbles, or illusions. While appearing intangible, these forms evoke memories of past labor and domestic life, mapping traces of movement and symbolizing a sense of belonging. They echo the shared dreams once woven together under the passage of time.

作品探討消逝與存在共存的可能性。透過募集早期的舊家具，回溯礦業公司員工宿舍遺構，並將其原本的家具功能性抽離，取而代之的是以金色金屬線編織而成的抽象軀體。這些金黃色線條透過居民共創，描繪、纏繞、塑形，構築起形態朦朧的虛空間，如夢泡影。但也同時對應了過往生產製造的生活回憶，移動的痕跡，象徵著家的歸屬感，也同時回應了在過往時光下大家共同編織的夢想。
